The 2020 Environmental Awareness Scholarship recognizes local high school seniors who are active in their community and show an interest in environmental issues. Five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. Deadline to apply is Thurs, June 11 at 6 p.m.

In keeping with State and County orders pertaining to COVID-19, and in order to keep the community and staff safe, the City of Norwalk will be hosting a virtual Memorial Day tribute on Monday, May 25. The event will air at 11 a.m. on Facebook, Instagram and the local access channel.

The blood drive on Thursday, May 21, is sponsored by the City of Norwalk and Norwalk Pony Baseball, and will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Sproul Room at the Norwalk Arts & Sports Complex.

The City of Norwalk continues to work closely with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (DPH) to monitor COVID-19. Today, March 24, DPH reported one confirmed case of COVID-19 in Norwalk.

Today, March 19, the Norwalk City Council issued a State of Emergency. The declaration allows the City to receive funding from the Federal Government, State of California, and the County of Los Angeles.

These recent measures follow the previous suspension of City-sponsored events and programming through March, and closure of the Norwalk Arts & Sports Complex and modified hours to the Norwalk Senior Center. All measures follow State and County guidelines.

Earlier this week, Governor Newsom and the CA Department of Public Health released aggressive guidelines directing the cancellation of large gatherings with crowds over 250 people and cancellation of smaller gatherings in venues that do not allow social distancing.
