The scholarships, ranging from $1,050 to $2,600, will assist with tuition for occupational training in health sciences, medical technology or welding/metal fabrication at Norwalk-La Mirada Adult School. The deadline to apply is Friday, July 31.

The 2020 Environmental Awareness Scholarship recognizes local high school seniors who are active in their community and show an interest in environmental issues. Five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. Deadline to apply is Thurs, June 11 at 6 p.m.

These recent measures follow the previous suspension of City-sponsored events and programming through March, and closure of the Norwalk Arts & Sports Complex and modified hours to the Norwalk Senior Center. All measures follow State and County guidelines.

City of Norwalk Suspends all City-Sponsored Events and Programming through March as a Result of State Guidelines
Earlier this week, Governor Newsom and the CA Department of Public Health released aggressive guidelines directing the cancellation of large gatherings with crowds over 250 people and cancellation of smaller gatherings in venues that do not allow social distancing.
