The Department designs economic development programs, plans for the beneficial use of properties, reviews project plans, ensures construction compliance with approved plans and codes, assists low to moderate income families with housing, and implements long-term planning for the improvement of the City.
CURRENT ACTIVITIES
An Economic Development Opportunities Plan (EDOP) was created and adopted in 2018 to guide Departmental activities and allow staff to adapt to economic trends. City staff presented this Plan to business and community partners to share findings and solicit input prior to City Council adoption.
On October 17, 2023, the City Council adopted the Economic Development Opportunities Plan Update.
