Businesses are highlighted based on the following criteria:
- Nominations on social media and on this website
- Have a valid, current business license in the City of Norwalk
- Be in good standing per City of Norwalk's municipal code
**Business must be in Norwalk and have an active business license.
Submission period: March 1 - March 22, 2024
Judging occurs April 2024
Are you proud of your home or business looking clean, well-kept, and attractive? If so, enter the Community Promotion Commission’s Annual Home and Business Beautification Contest! The contest is an opportunity for residents, property owners, and businesses to showcase the time and hard work they invest in maintaining their home or business.
Contest winners are chosen in four categories:
- Curb Appeal
- Multi-family Dwelling
- Home Improvements
- Interior Business Appeal
Entries can be self-nominated or nominated by other individuals as long as the City can contact the property owner. The Community Promotion Commission selects the winners, who are then recognized at a City Council meeting.
Some rules to know:
- Nominations will be accepted on this website
- If a business, the property must have a valid, current business license in the city of Norwalk
- Homes and business properties to be judged must be in good standing per City of Norwalk's municipal code
- Beautification elements must be visible from a public right-of-way (such as a sidewalk). Judges will not enter locked/blocked private property, including those behind gates or other barriers.
Nominations for 2023: November 27 - December 11
Judging period: December 16 - December 25 (decorations must be visible and lights turn on after 6 PM)
Every year for the Holidays, our community demonstrates the spirit of the season with lights and ornaments of all colors, shapes and sizes. The City of Norwalk Community Promotion Commission invites residents and businesses yearly to enter our Annual Holiday Home & Business Décor Contest. Contest winners are chosen in three categories: Best Display - Residential and Best Display - Business. Winners are recognized at a City Council meeting and receive a festive yard sign commemorating their award.

- Holiday decorations must be visible from a public right-of-way (such as a sidewalk). Judges will not enter private residences or businesses, including those behind gates or other barriers.
- Holiday decorations, including lights, will be visible after 6 PM during the judging period between December 16 - December 25.
Every year The City of Norwalk and the Norwalk Community Promotion Commission proudly invite our deputies, firefighters, highway patrol officers, public safety officers and school safety personnel to our annual Public Safety Appreciation Luncheon. This event is organize to recognize and honor the dedicated service and commitment of first responders.
For the City of Norwalk, home and business improvements are a crucial part of community revitalization. Well-maintained properties reflect the commitment and care of citizens and local business owners, and keep our city looking beautiful.
The City of Norwalk Community Promotion Commission invites homes and businesses to participate in an annual Home and Business Beautification Contest. First, Second and Third Place winners are awarded in four categories: Curb Appeal, Multi-Family Dwelling, Home Improvements and Interior Business Appeal.

The City Council of the City of Norwalk desires to involve its citizens in the affairs of the City by providing opportunities for participation and service on local regulatory and advisory bodies. Every year the Community Promotion Commission hosts a “Meet & Greet” with all commissioners. This allows for everyone to meet and get familiar with their counter parts on other commissions.
