Adaptive Recreation
Activities are held at Gerdes Park, 14700 Gridley Road, unless otherwise noted. To register for programs or to be added to the mailing list, please call 562-929-5761, or visit/call the Therapeutic Program staff at Gerdes Park, 562-929-5611 during operating hours Monday-Thursday from 3:00-5:30 p.m.
HEART Club Afternoons (formerly, CLASS) (Ages 13 & over)
This fun and interactive afternoon program is specifically designed for your teen or adult with disabilities. Fitness, games, crafts, life skills and socializing will be the main focus.
HEART (Ages 13 & Over)
This program is designed for children, teens, and adults with developmental, physical, and/or learning disabilities. Participants are encouraged to maximize their abilities through recreation activities with a social emphasis. Recreation staff at a 1:6 ratio conducts the program. All participants must have a current medical/emergency form on file with the department in order to participate.
PLEASE NOTE: Although group homes are encouraged to participate, an attendant or program aide must remain to assist as needed.
