Dial-A-Ride Services
Norwalk Transit offers additional curb-to-curb transportation options beyond bus services for qualified City of Norwalk residents. These services are categorized as Advance Reservation Dial-A-Ride Service in which the patron makes a reservation with the service provider. Weekday interjurisdictional Taxi Card service is provided for residents upon advanced request(s) placed by the patron, the vehicle can also be mobility device accessible (i.e. wheelchair ramp).
Registration for the programs are administered at the Transportation / Public Services Facility (Customer Service Lobby) located at 12650 E. Imperial Highway in the City of Norwalk, just east of Bloomfield Ave., next to the Norwalk / Santa Fe Springs Metrolink Station. Overview of the programs are as follows:
Advanced Reservations
The Advanced Reservation Dial-A-Ride (DAR) program is available to senior citizens (60-years of age and older) and disabled residents of the City of Norwalk. Downloadable application is conveniently located below.

Trip Parameters: Any location within the City of Norwalk.
Weekday Service: Monday – Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 10:45 p.m.
Weekend Service: Saturday & Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Cost: $1.00 fare for one-way trip. Cash or TAP Card accepted.
User-Subsidy TaxiCard Service
The User-Subsidy TaxiCard Service is also available to registered DAR patrons who have transportation needs to pre-approved Medical Facilities outside of the City of Norwalk.
Authorized Medical Offices outside City of Norwalk (i.e. Bellflower, Downey, Lakewood and Whittier)
Trip Parameters: Pre-approved Medical Facilities within surrounding cities.
Weekday Service: Monday – Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Weekend Service: Not available
TaxiCard Registration Form [PDF]
Cost: Present your TaxiCard® to the taxi driver. The driver will swipe and return your card. At the end of your trip you will have your card swiped again and pay the $1.00 co-pay and any remaining trip balance exceeding $16.00 value. Cash payment only.
