California State law requires all dogs over the age of 4 months to be licensed annually. Licenses need to be purchased within 30 days of obtaining the dog or at 4 months of age. To register your pet and obtain a license you must be 18 years of age or older and have your pet's current Rabies Vaccination Certificate. There is no license require for cats.

How many dogs and cats can I have?
A combination of three dogs and cats over 4 months old are allowed for each residential dwelling.
How much is a Dog License?
Dog Licensing Fees 2020-21

Unaltered Pet: $60.00
Altered Pet: $30.00
Senior Resident (65+): $30.00
Senior Resident & Altered Pet: $15.00
What is required for a Dog License?
Dogs over 4 month old need a Dog License annually. You will need copies of:
- Dog’s rabies certificate
- Certificate of sterility (if applicable)
- Copy of I.D. for senior discount (if applicable)
