Traffic Awareness Art Contest 2022

Calling all Norwalk youth! Public Safety is launching its Traffic Awareness Campaign in the month of May. As part of the campaign, all Norwalk youth are eligible to enter the 2022 Traffic Awareness Art Contest!  This contest will highlight local youth’s artistic skills as they display why it is important to drive safely and always abide by traffic laws.  It is simple and easy to enter!  All you need is a blank 8 ½” by 11” plain piece of paper and your creativity!

Announcement of winning entries will take place on the City’s social media platforms on May 12, 2022.  Winners will be selected by age category (elementary, middle, and high school).

Winners will receive a prize and be recognized on the City’s social media and at the May 17, 2022, City Council meeting.

All submissions will be kept by the City for display at City Hall.

If a participant wishes to have his/her entry returned, please contact the Public Safety Department at (562) 929-5732.

Virtual Community Workshop

Bicycle Master Plan

The City of Norwalk is developing its first Bicycle Master Plan (BMP), which will guide the expansion of bicycle infrastructure that meets the needs of the community and promotes a safer environment for people to bike. The plan’s goals are to improve bicycling connectivity, access to transit, and safety for all users.

We want your input on the biking improvements that are being included in the plan. You can participate in the virtual workshop taking place on Wednesday, October 6 from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM (click here to register).
