This year marks our 8th annual “Artastic” program.  Don’t miss out on this award-winning special event that celebrates the arts and highlights the Cultural Arts Center’s programs and classes.  Stop by to see how you can get involved in the creative process and art appreciation. Bring the family and enjoy free art activities, multiple art exhibits, entertainment, attractions, a Community Art Competition and a street fair with food trucks, an art walk and chalk art competition. 

High school and middle school students who reside in the City of Norwalk; attend school in Norwalk, private or public; or attend school in the Norwalk/La Mirada Unified School District are invited to enter the art competition.  Each artwork submitted will be displayed on exhibit dates, and an Artist Reception will be held for all participating artists, their friends and family on Friday, March 17.  Submit your best piece of work.  Accepted media include: photography, drawing, painting, sculpture, prints, fashion, mixed media, and computer-generated art.  All artwork must be mounted, matted, or framed.    Applications are available here, by clicking on the documents below, and at all City facilities.  A total of $400 in scholarships will be awarded to top artists.  For more information, please call the Cultural Arts Center at 562-929-5521.

Community Book Fair

March 14 - 24

Tuesday - Friday • 3:00-7:00 p.m. & Saturdays • 11:00 a.m-3:00 p.m.

Cultural Arts Center • 13200 Clarkdale Avenue

Come check out our Community Book Fair at the Cultural Arts Center. Books, trinkets, and school supplies will be available for sale. Scholastics has provided books that are available for all ages. The book fair will be open for extended hours on Friday, March 17, 6:00-9:00 p.m., during the “Artastic” event at the Cultural Arts Center. For more information, please call 562-929-5521.

COST: $15/couple

Daughters must be between 3 and 10 years of age

Registration Deadline: April 28

What a better way to spend your Saturday night than on a date with your daughter?  Let us celebrate the spring with a Hawaiian Luau.  Daughters come in your sundresses or grass skirts.  Fathers come in your favorite Hawaiian T-shirt.  We will have a luau dinner, crafts and show.
